Breakthrough RNA Isolation with RNAzol® RT
a new single-step method for isolation of RNA without Phase Separation

RNAzol®RT is the most effective reagent for isolation of pure and undegraded RNA with protocols yielding either a single fraction containing total RNA or two separate fractions containing mRNA and small RNA, from a wide variety of samples. The isolated RNA is ready for any downstream application without prior DNase treatment.

RNAzol®RT separates RNA from other molecules in a single-step based on the interaction of phenol and guanidine with cellular components. The sample is homogenized or lysed in RNAzol®RT. Just add water and centrifuger to precipitate DNA, proteins, polysaccharides and other molecules and isolate the pure RNA from the supernatant by alcohol precipitation. No chloroform-induced phase separation is necessary to obtain pure RNA!

RNA Isolation: TRI Reagent® - the original!

TRI Reagent® is a complete and ready-to-use reagent for the isolation of total RNA or the simultaneous isolation of RNA, DNA and/or proteins from samples of human, animal, plant, yeast, bacterial and viral origin. The TRI Reagent® RNA isolation method is widely used and proven!

TRI Reagent® is patented (US Patent 4,843,155 and 5,346,994). It is an improved version of the popular single-step method for total RNA isolation combining phenol and guanidine thiocyanate in a mono-phase solution for most effective RNase inhibition. The sample is homogenized or lysed in TRI Reagent® and is separated into aqueous and organic phases by bromochloropropane or chloroform addition and centrifugation. RNA is precipitated from the aqueous phase by addition of isopropanol. DNA and proteins are sequentially precipitated from the interphase and the organic phase with ethanol and isopropanol.

DNA Isolation: DNAzol®    
DNAzol® is a complete and ready to use reagent for the isolation of genomic or viral DNA from solid and liquid samples of human, animal and plant origin. The DNAzol procedure is based on the use of a novel guanidine - detergent lysing solution that hydrolyzes RNA and promotes the selective precipitation of DNA from the cell lysate (Chomczynski P. et al., 1997, Mackey K. et al. 1997). This advanced DNA isolation method (U.S. patent no. 5,945,515) combines reliability and efficiency with the simplicity of a fast isolation protocol. Isolated DNA can be used for Southern analysis, dot blot hybridization, molecular cloning and PCR.
